How to Set Up Dashboard Alerts

The Explore section of the HUMAN Dashboard offers several tools to help analyze your traffic data, including the ability to configure email alerts. You can configure these alerts to notify you if HUMAN detects traffic fluctuations based on customizable criteria.

Configure Explore data

Alerts are managed through the Explore section of the HUMAN Dashboard, since each alert's reporting criteria are tied to the conditions of its Explore view data.

To build the foundation for your alert, create or adjust a view associated with the relevant data. You must save your view before configuring its associated alerts. You can also configure existing alerts by loading the view linked to a specific alert.

You can set alerts for any data available through the HUMAN Dashboard. MediaGuard users can set alerts for both FraudSensor and MediaGuard data (if applicable), while BotGuard for Applications users and BotGuard for Growth Marketing users can only set alerts for detection data.

Create a new alert

To create a new alert, select the Alerts tab on the configuration pane. When you've finished configuring an alert, select Save to finalize your changes.

Status: Whether the alert is active or inactive. Select the toggle to change between statuses.

Name: The name of the alert. You can give each alert a custom name based on its function.

Type: The type of alert. Currently, only threshold alerts are available.

Priority: The priority of the alert. Each priority level has its own notification frequency:

  • Critical: hourly notifications
  • High: daily notifications
  • Medium: weekly notifications

You can set one condition per alert.

Metric: The metric for the alert. You can select any metric associated with your chosen HUMAN solution. For example, if you are building an alert based on BotGuard for Growth Marketing data, all BotGuard for Growth Marketing metrics are available for your alert.

Constraint: The constraint for the alert. This logical operator sets the threshold for notifications. For example, if you select the “Greater than” constraint for your alert, you will receive notifications when your metric exceeds a specific value.

Value: The numeric value for the alert. If your chosen metric exceeds, falls below, or equals this value (in accordance with your chosen constraint), the alert will be triggered.

The email addresses of your alert’s subscribers. Each alert must have at least one subscriber, but you can add as many additional subscribers as you see fit. These subscribers must have email addresses associated with your organization’s HUMAN account.

To delete any existing subscribers, select the X button next to that subscriber’s name.

Manage existing alerts

You can create multiple alerts per view. Each of these alerts can be individually configured to unique criteria and frequencies. The Saved Alerts section of the Alerts tab will list any alerts saved to a particular view.

You can edit, clone, or delete existing alerts at any time. You can also toggle each alert as active or inactive without affecting the configuration of that alert.

Email notifications

If an alert is triggered, HUMAN will send an email notification to each of the subscribers for that alert. These email notifications include:

  • The name of your organization
  • The date and time the alert was triggered
  • A link to the Explore view to which the alert is anchored
  • The conditions for the triggered alert

The alert notification will also include a list of the top five fields that triggered the alert's associated metric, as well as a .csv file with a full list of fields.
